The Payless Car Rental is still a relatively hot new item on the Slovak market, but it has been behind it for almost half a century of branding and branding. The Payless Car Rental Auto Rental was put into operation in Slovakia in June 2018, with the intention of the brand to enter our market even earlier. The brand here belongs to the United Group with a 24-year history, and as such is part of one of the largest international mobility and rental companies, the Avis Budget Group. And this international experience of Payless Car Rental is significantly longer.
The brand entered the Slovak market with high ambitions, representing the entire international corporate strategy.
It all started in Washington.
The company is currently based in St. Petersburg, Florida, but the very origin of the company is tied to another American city, Spokane, Washington.
The company was founded by John Les Netterstron in 1971. The very name of the company, Payless Car Rental, was intended to draw attention, even without slogans, to the affordability of car rentals. Even then, there was strong competition in the car rental market, mainly from AVIS, whose history has been written since 1946 and Budget Rent and Car with a tradition of over 60 years. In addition, other smaller or larger car rental companies, among which it was necessary to excel, sought the attention of customers. Putting the phrase ‘ pay less ’ directly in the title proved to be a step in the right direction.
During the 1970s and 1980s, Payless Car Rental made its way through some of the most cost-effective leases in the United States, and the low prices were largely due to Dr.

The supply of vehicles is divided into four main categories - Economy, Compact, 9-seater and Van-N2. In the Economy category, it offers smaller vehicles, more suitable for the city and for short journeys, for example, the Renault Clio of €13 a day, excluding VAT, for renting for eight days or more. Compact offers both larger and more comfortable vehicles. You can take Renault Trafic from category 9-seater to travel with the lot, or you can move your furniture with the Renault Master van from category VAN N2.


In the car park, you will find only vehicles with above-standard equipment. The equipment includes cruise control, navigation, air conditioning and, in the case of Compact Automatic, automatic gearbox.
All engines are economical and comply with the public commitment that the Slovak Payless Car Rental made just last year: To actively reduce its fleet's carbon dioxide emissions. The aim is to achieve the prescribed European target in the form of a fleet average of 95 g / km CO2, which does not apply to the car rental company, but is nevertheless approached by Payless Car Rental as a member of the 'United Group'.
